We live in an age of globalization and information technology.
In order to increasingly interact with people from diverse cultures and
backgrounds for the success of our international business, we must be effective
cross-cultural communicators, i.e. we must have the ability to communicate
across cultural barriers.
Overcoming cultural and linguistic obstacles and deciphering set patterns
of thought will prompt 1) employees of different cultures to form a strong
team; 2) partners with different cultural backgrounds to build company
unity; and 3) a business and its external environment, including the general
public, government agencies, competitors, suppliers, distributors, and
most importantly, clientele.
